Rivne. Let's coffee.

During last several years quantity of coffee-shops in Rivne grew from day to day. Coffee is a drug, but very specific drug. Its consumption doesn't lead to antisocial behaviour. People don't kill each other for coffee and don't extort money from other people for cup of coffee. But coffee drinker has kind of withdrawal however not painful. I'd said rather sleepy. So if you are coffee drinker and fate has willed you be in Rivne let's look at the different Rivne's hot spot and smell the air.

Coffee for ones is a drug, for others is just beverage, but for small group of people it is a way to show themselves. That's why they don't drink coffee in the their small and narrow kitchens or busy and boisterous offices, but spend time and money to visit the coffee-shop. They are powerful army of investors that nourish development of coffee-shop business in Rivne.

What do you want?
Ukrainian isn't English speaking country so you probably will have some communicative problem even when you want to order cup of coffee. I bet and believe that after several year problem will be solved, because more and more pupils have finished classes with enhanced English. But in 2014 you have to have someone who will help you with our menus, because they are preferably in Ukrainian. Don't forget Rivne isn't tourist city.

• Robusta or arabica.

Well then we have two main group of coffee: Robusta and Arabica. I drink coffee as a drug, so I am not expert in coffee. All I know that Robusta is more stronger and cheaper. Arabica is more flavoured and have plenty of flavour. I always order Robusta, and never Arabica, and I believe that after you order Arabica coffee, you should be ready for another question what kind of it do you want. If you want to show yourself as rich, or at least not pour, or fun of good coffee, or coffee expert-connoiseur order Arabica without hesitation.

• Espresso or americano

Next question is how many of coffee do you want. I don't find term "Americano" in my vocabulary. But be sure in Rivne that way we divide volume of the cup. Espresso is small cup, Americano is big cup. That's difference. My brother in law always mock at Americano drinker, because he believes that water kills coffee and its flavour. Sometimes shop assistance doesn't ask about volume of cup and prepare espresso by default, if you don't mention the other.

• What kind of vessel? 

One more question before the final coffee. Do you want to drink on-the-run or before the table. Smoker of cigarette prefer paper or plastic cup, because if tables are inside the coffee shop, you can't smoke in the public place. Coffee shop is a public place. Terrace steps are also public place, but you can smoke there, at least now. Neither Ukrainian police nor ordinary people say you something. We have plenty of problem besides smoking on the street, for example war and separatists on the East, but I sincerely hope that one day we resolve smoking on the street as well. So return to our question you can cup or glass. I am not sure that every shop assistant will understand you at once but you should be ready to persuade them in the right way.

Рівне за три години.

Як обійти Рівне за декілька годин. Зазвичай туристи обминають Рівне, як бідне на туристичні пастки. Немає у нас приголомшливих замків та старовинних вуличок. Задача даного посту окреслити маршрут, що може здійснити людина, яку випадково закинуло в Рівне, і вона бажає залишити враження про місто та людей, або відчути дух рівнян, чим вони дихають і як проводять своє дозвілля. Не маючи можливості описати нічне життя з усіма небезпеками та перевагами, оскільки не веду нічне життя та не тусуюсь в сучасних молодіжних розважальних закладах, спробую придумати маршрут для туриста віку від 30 до 50 років, що цікавиться історією України в цілому та міст і сіл краю зокрема.

Почати маршрут, я рекомендую від Воскресенського собору. Воскресеньский собор був закладений 30 серпня 1890 року російським царем Олександром ІІІ. Освячено, а отже і введено остаточну експлуатацію було 8 жовтня 1895 року. Тобто собор будувався 5 років. Джерела згадують, що на місці сучасного кам"яного храму була дерев"яна церква, збудована Марією Несвицькою. Чи була цекрва на момент побудови собору мені поки не відомо.
В радянські часи в приміщенні був музей атеїзму. В період перебудови в 1989 році він перейшов церковній громаді, а в 1992 році після створення Української православної церкви Київського патріархату, та фактичного розділу Української церкви на дві гілки, та протистояння громад собор було розділено на два храми. Верхній перейшов конфесії Київського патріархату, нижній - підвальний до Московського. Зараз служби правляться в обох храмах собору.

Наскільки мені відомо, а інтернет мовчить, церковна громада Київського патріархату відвойовувала верхній храм, і забрала його, чи не силою. При цьому постраждали навість люди. Очолював "повстання" конроверсійна фігура і гарячий політик Василь Червоній. Прихожани Московського патріархату мають, чи мали зуб на Василя Михайловича. І коли 4 липня 2009 року Червоній загинув під час рибалки на ставку недалеко від Рівного. По чуткам під час грози він розмовляв по мобільному телефону. Тоді в цьому факті прихожани Московського партіархату побачили Боже провидіння та кару їхному лютому супротивнику.
Цікаво також, що під час відвидин Московського патріарха прихожан своєї епархії раптово припнилась велика злива, в чому православні Московської церкви теж побачили Божий промисл.


Майданчик біля Собору дуже жваве місце. Можливо тому, що це центр, а можливо тому, що тут сила силенна розважальних закладів, що працюють посиленно у свята та вихідні. Це одне з улюблених місць для рівнян для відпочинку.

Якщо ви розвернетесь на 180 градусів від Собору, ваш погляд впада на кафетерій Аміго. Це місце має свою історію. Колись тут розташовувався центральний гастроном, скорочено ЦГ, або цегельня. Це було чи не єдине місце, де варили каву. Справжню каву, і це місце збирало справжніх кавоманів. Нині кафетерій зберіг специфіку. Тут можна придбати легку їжу: тістечка, салати, четрверть піци. Звичайно чай, кава, капучіно. Є також спитртні напої. Але тут зазвичай не напиваються, хіба що поправляють здоров'я.

Якщо пройти в дворик під аркою, що трішки далі від кафе "Аміго", можна втрапити на одну з перших вулиць під назвою Шкільна. На на ній розташовується міський та господаський суди. По праву сторону кав'ярня "Анюта", де по чуткам варять добру каву.

Але ми не підемо на Шкільну ми скеруємо наш шлях в сторону катка для катання на ковзанах. Влітку тут катаються на роликових, взимку, його переобладнують та заливають водою, тому тут можна кататись на класичних ковзанах. Справа від катка торгівельно-розважальний центр "Злата Плаза", що має підземні торгові точки, тому він знаходиться також під катком. Тут же справа по ходу перший та єдиний в місті "МакДональдз". Асортимент відомий і не міняється від країни до країни. Ціни залежать від вашого доходу. Для одних високі, для інших мізерні.

Спускаємось по сходах і виходимо на майдан Короленка. Ідемо вздовж алеї, що веде до Краєзнавчого музею.

Рівне - пам"ятка туристу: Вокзали.

   Якщо ви опинились в Рівному Вам буде корисно знати, що в нас декілька автовокзалів, що розкидані по місту, і один залізничний вокзал. Колись за радяньских часів в Рівному був лише один автовокзал, що знаходився на досить великів відстані від залізничного. Практично це було на двох різних кінцях міста. Так як місто розрозлось, то це вже не межі міста, але пішки добратись дуже довго, і немає змісту. Між вокзалами зараз курсує тролейбус №3 та маршрутка №64. Віднедавана у нас з"явилось, ще два вокзали. Один примикає безпосередньо до залізничного, і обслуговує приміські напрямки в сторону Луцька, але не до Луцька та Здобунова. Коли вам треба на Луцьк, тоді ва на основний вокзал на вулиці Киїський. Другий вокзал крупний вокзал на вулиці Гагаріна, біля торгівельно-розважального центру "Чайка". Тролейбус №8 та маршрутка №56 від залізничного вокзалу. Вокзал  має таку ж назву "Чайка", і обслуговує північні райони - Костопіль, Березне, Сарни, Кузнецовськ, Рокитне, Володимирець та Дубровицю.

Little about Rivne city.

At first glance Rivne is simple provincial city. It's true. But finally Rivne is a capital of so-called Rivne area. Ukraine divided on 26 areas, which in by-turn divided on districts. Each district has his own small capital. Sharp development of Rivne stated after Second World War and coincided with industrialisation of area in the shape of new plants and factories.

My father who have been living here since 1944 remembered time when city was a town and was more resembled to the village where everyone knew each others. Frankly speaking during over the seven hundred years since Rinve was mentioned first time, Napoleon didn't meet here Russian army, any prince wanted to made city his princedom and we have got any medieval castle. But sometimes in city's history happened events which deft storyteller, not me, I am deft rewriter, can turn into The Story.

Rivne history.

By this post I have declared my way to creating tourist business for foreigners in Ukraine and in my city. All the articles eventually will be published on my web page Ukraine for traveler. I am going to create web page named free english walking tour in Rivne, kind of.

Now a bit about the city I am living.

First reference.
First mention of Rivne dated by 1283 (twelve eighty-three) as a town of Galycko-Volynskiy princedom. However local archaeologists believe that city 250 (two hundred fifty) years older. During excavations in city were found remnants of building that date by X (tenth) century. That is an evidence that Rivne has more than thousand yeas. In "Story of the passing years" monk Nestor wrote that here had lived ancient Slavic tribes called Volhynians.

Name of the city.
There are several version of name of city origin. First one is that name "Rivne" (very resembled to flat, smooth, even) appeared because city situated on the flat area. Another version says that name of the city derived from the Ukrainian word "riv" that means ditch, moat or trench. Actually Rivne had a castle that was surrounded by ditch that was filled with water.

At 1340 (thirteen forty) territory of the town became part of the Lithuanian principality and was under subordination of Lutsk city.
At 1495 (fourteen ninety five) to Rivne was given Magdeburg right.
At 1500 (fifteen hundred) town was given right to have annual fair.
At 1518 (fifteen eighteen) Ostrozhski princes became owner of the town. They were owner of the town till 1621 (sixteen twenty one). Under Ostrozhski princes Rivne turned into more important town.
At 1548 (fifteen forty eight) here was built Roman catholic church and had been rebuilt whole castle.
At 1569 (fifteen sixty nine) Rivne became part of the Poland. After this Rivne suffered from Tatar's forey who sack, plunder and burn town. But shortly town was renewed. And at 1575 (fifteen seventy five) there were at least 543 (five hundred forty three) houses and buildings. During the next centuries Rinve was destroyed and restored several time.
At 1750 (seventeen fifty) development of the city began. At that year in town there were numbered 683 (six hundred eighty three) houses and buildings. There were mill and sawmill.
At 1756 (fifteen fifty six) in town was built Holly Dominion church and  Roman catholic church.
Shortly afterwards Józef Lubomirski who became the new owner of the town continued to rebuild castle. He turned it into a beautiful palace. Constantin Villani, Italian painter adorned its walls and soffites with frescoes. The pond was made deeper and was cleaned. At the palace's garden were placed statues, places for the game and carousels.

Do you believe that successful and felicitous promotion of the brand of the country is the powerful tool to the world public idea about the country? For me personally I believe in it but have suspicion that that power which create image of Ukraine or even other country,  that brain which manipulate of the public thought situated in Ukraine.But eventually the image of the country in the common sight of the mankind and prestige of the country in the mass media turn to the fertile and fruitful torrent of investments and tourists for the on pole or total oblivion or ignoring in case that brand arose negative feeling in the brains of supposed customers. For this point of view the brand of the country gives us wide field to discuss the ways and effectiveness of that or other promotion programs.

What kind of Ukraine conscious Ukrainians would like to see. What priority to choose and on what direction should we stake? Do we flow along the stream or steer our own boat? People from the team which create this survey and which I take courage to translate by my own manner are sure that they give it below and above.

Project brend "Ukraine": there is the first after twenty years of independence large-scale project, which purpose to develop all-embracing strategy of position of Ukraine to the foreigners. It's wrong to assert that this project was made from the scratch. Due to two decades of existent after independence the word "Ukraine" became well-known around the globe.

Introduction.

What do you thing about position of your country on the world scene? Please compare it with Ukraine. Does it comparable? Or do they comparable?
Does it important to create brand of you country among the mankind? And what do you think about Ukraine? Do we need to canvass this question in the light of brand of your country?
Do we need to rule over the level of the brand of our countries on the world arena?

Is There an art to create positive image of you country by showing to other people positive side of it. Or it is impossible to be creative and do hard and thoughtful job in order to hide negative side of you country for another person.
Does it possible to give dependable and strong instrument to our politics that they change opinion about Ukraine in sight of the foreigner.

Is it possible to manipulate successfully by mankind's opinion and create certain image of the country that include its past, contemporary and ideas of prosperity of the country.

Could it possible to create the soul of the country that include hard work of the every member of the country and that that soul influence on the vision for this country from the whole mankind.
